What Filer Rural Fire District provides to the community.
Our crews respond to structural fires, wildland fires, and vehicle fires 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We maintain mutual aid agreements with neighboring departments to ensure adequate resources for large incidents.
The EMS division provides first-response medical care to patients across the district. Our Quick Response Unit is staffed by trained EMTs ready to respond to medical emergencies at any time.
We provide vehicle extrication and general rescue services. Our personnel are trained to assist in a wide range of emergency rescue scenarios.
Filer Rural Fire District participates in regional mutual aid agreements, providing and receiving assistance from neighboring fire departments and agencies throughout the Magic Valley.
Our mobile safety house is available for community events and school programs to teach fire escape planning and safety to children and families.
The district previously operated a dunk tank at community events. While we no longer own the dunk tank, we can provide contact information for the current owners. Call us at (208) 326-4111 for a referral.
We assist property owners with controlled burn-out operations as needed. Contact the district office for information about scheduling and requirements.
Our members are active in public relations and community education, providing fire safety presentations, school visits, and participation in local events throughout the year.
Residential and agricultural burning in the Filer Rural Fire District may require a permit depending on the season and current fire danger conditions.
Burn permits are typically required during the spring and fall burn seasons. Open burning may be restricted or prohibited during periods of high fire danger.

Filer Rural Fire District provides fire and EMS services to the rural areas surrounding Filer, Idaho. The district boundaries include agricultural and residential properties outside the Filer city limits. For specific boundary questions, contact the district office.
Call 911 for all fire and medical emergencies. Dispatchers will contact Filer Rural Fire District and coordinate the appropriate response. Do not call the station directly for emergencies.
EMS transport services may result in a bill depending on the nature of the call and insurance coverage. Fire response services are generally provided at no direct cost to residents within the district. Contact the office for billing questions.
